This is a particularly outstanding mid-Edo period Hirado tsuba, circa 1750. The carvings, sukashi elements and design of the work are quite skillful. The shinchu ji is in excellent condition with an attractive mellow patina. This tsuba was once in Jim Gilbert's collection. Accompanied by a NTHK Kanteisho paper. A high-quality item that is a delight to recommend.
