About this sword :   This is an ubu wakizashi by Ujinobu. He was an Owari shinto smith and was most active around Tenna (1681-1684). The sugata of this blade is a text-book example of the Kanbun shinto style. The character of the nioi guchi as well as the hamon pattern are representative of Owari shinto in every way. This is a well made blade, healthy and with no kizu. It is in full professional polish and is a joy to study. This polish can be applauded for its crisp geometry and precise hadori work. This passed NBTHK shinsa in 1970 and received a Tokubetsu-kicho paper. It is also accompanied by a shirasaya and a gold wash habaki. An ubu, zaimei, papered Owari shinto wakizashi in full polish and attractively priced.
