About this sword :   This is a strong shin shinto katana by Nagayoshi. He was an Owari smith that was active around Meiji times (1868-1912). This sugata is rare. It is the "kinnoto" style. This is also referred to as a "royalist's sword". One can see this sugata illustrated in Nagayama's book as one of the representative transitional shapes in the history of the Japanese sword. This is a healthy blade. The mihaba of this blade is 3.3 cm and the saki haba is 2.4 cm. The quality of this blade is also impressive. The ko-itame hada that is packed with nie hataraki is especially enjoyable. There are no kizu. It comes with a silver foil habaki, shira-saya, storage bag and a NTHK Kanteisho paper. A high quality katana in a wonderful state of preservation.
