About this sword :   This is a very nice wakizashi by Aizu Masanaga. He was the father of the Miyoshi Nagamichi amd was active around 1624. Masanaga is famous for being a student of Umetada Myoju like Hizen Tadayoshi. He is a highly regarded maker at the Jo Saku level and is ranked at Wazamono for the cutting ability of his swords. This blade is in good old polish and does not need restoration. It has a few ware in the shinogi-ji. These are minor and not a problem for the blade. This comes with a nicely made antique silver foil double habaki and deluxe shirasaya. This also has 2013 NBTHK Hozon Paper. A very desirable ubu zaimei Jo saku work and attractively priced.
