This is a large format classic reference work on iron sukashi tsuba by the renowned expert Sasano Masayuki. For those that enjoy iron sukashi, this book is an absolute "must have". The quality of the photos and layout of this book is quite excellent. There are hundreds of black and white photos in this book and 8 color plates. The color photos convey the patina excellently and the black and white photos have a wonderful contrast that shows the tekkotsu and texture of each tsuba very clearly. Many examples of each school are shown. Sasano really helps us to understand the full scope of each tradition. For example there are 26 Owari tsuba , 24 Kanayama tsuba and 18 Yagyu tsuba shown just to name a few. All are highly representative examples in top condition. The book has 426 pages, very heavy.
