A Same and Shakudo Wakizashi Koshirae

This is an original Edo period koshirae. This example is not a composite production that was made in olden days. It was common for koshirae to be made from parts that were readily available or on-hand. Rather, this was a made to order koshirae with all of the tosgu made at the same time to create this work. Such koshirea are becoming more and more scarce. The same skin saya is in perfect condition. The shakudo tsuba has some wear and dings but it is the original one and it matched the fuchi kashira. It comes with an iron tsunagi and is ideal for display and appreciation.
