About this sword :   Bitchu no Kami Yasuhiro is well known and representative smith of the Osaka Ishido tradition. This group of smiths aimed at the florid choji midare of Bizen Ichimonji. The best works of the group also show some midare utsuri, such as this example. Overall, this blade captures the spirit of Ichimonji admirably while showing the sugu yakidashi, boshi and Kanbun shinto sugata that we expect to see in a text book example of Osaka Ishido. This blade is in old polish and there are light scratches and blemishes. There are no kizu, the blade is quite healthy and its nagasa is remarkably long at 28.25 inches. It is accompanied by a shirasaya, gold foil habaki and a NBTHK Hozon paper attributing the blade to Bitchu no kami Yasuhiro.
