A very interesting and well made iron tsuba of three piece design. It is attributed to the Nagasaki school by the NBTHK. The seppa dai of the tsuba are removable. The center of the main section is pierced with two holes, through which posts of the front seppa dai side pass to connect with the rear seppa dai. The line carving on the work is nicely done and some gold nunome remains. It is a clever work and certainly a great study peace. This tsuba is accompanied by a 2002 NBTHK Hozon paper and a paulownia storage box.
