Hamon :  Nie deki gunome midare beginning with a classic Kyo-yakidashi. The nioiguchi is thick and bright. The tani of each gunome become thick nioi ashi. Tobiyaki as well as togari formations are present. Lively kinsuji and inazuma are plentiful.

Boshi :  Ko-maru with slack in the Mishina style. There are kaen nie activities at the turn back and the bight nioi guchi is packed with ko-nie.

Kitae :  Tight ko-itame with some tight flowing masame hada. There is an abundance of ji-nie, in the form of ko-nie. Due to the even distribution of ko-nie in the ji, the hada has a "wet" appearance. The shinogi-ji is masame hada.

About this sword :  This blade's jiha is a textbook example of Hisamichi and the Mishina tradition in every way. Especially, the kyo yakidashi, think bright nioi-guchi and Mishina style boshi are strong points of appreciation. The quality of this blade is wonderfull. Also, the quality of the polish on this blade is excellent and every detail of its workmanship can be clearly studied. The ubu nakago of this blade was rusted at some point in its history. As a result, only the top of the edagiku mon remains. In the book, Art and the Sword - Volume Seven, Yoshikawa Koen sates "..of all the generations of Hisamichi, only the second generation engraved the edagiku". Also, when the nidai made dai-saku for the shodai and joint works with the shodai, we often see the edagiku mon on those. The nidai began making swords with the shodai in 1680, worked a long time (32 years) with the responsibility of making dai-saku and dai-mei for the shodai (a jo saku smith) and passed at the age of 55 in 1716. There were only 5 years at the end of his career in which he produced works that were exclusively by him. This blade is accompanied by a NBTHK Hozon paper, shirasaya, gold foil habaki and a storage bag. It should be noted that the low price below is a reflection of the nakago condition. Otherwise, it would easily be attractive at a considerably higher figure.

Price: $7900
