About this sword :   This is a koto wakizashi that has been attributed to Fuyuhiro by the NBTHK. Fuyuhiro was the son of Soshu Hirotsugu and the Soshu influence shows well in the works of this school. We can certainly see that in this example. Especially the nie-utsuri, yubashiri and thick ji-nie point to Soshu teachings. There were four generations of Fuyuhiro in the mid to late Muromachi period. There is a lot to see in this blade and it is fun to study. There are some ware in a few places as shown in the photos. These are minor. This has a fully intact boshi and kaeri. This is a shobu-zukrui wakizashi that was cut down at some point in its 500 year history. This comes with a shira-saya, coper habaki and a storage bag. A strong old blade that was in use at the time of the Sengoku jidai and one that has lots of Soshu flavor. Very attractively priced.
