An iron sukashi Akasaka tsuba. This tsuba is accompanied by a 2000 Nihon Tosogu Bijutsukan paper. The ranking is Bunka Shiryoo and the paper states that this tsuba was made in the Edo period. This character of the ji gives a feeling of age. Judging from the nakago-ana, this tsuba may have been mounted on a pole arm at some point in its history. A paulownia storage box is included.
